The Texas Department of Public Safety License To Carry Proficiency Demonstration is intended to demonstrate the applicant’s ability to safely handle and shoot a handgun. Any type and caliber of handgun may be used.
Requirements:
- Fire 50 rounds at a B-27 target (45″ high x 24″ wide)
- Standing position with pistol aimed at target
- Score a minimum of 175 out of a possible 250 points (70% required to pass)
Twenty shots – 3 yard line:
1 shot in 2 seconds, 5 times Twenty shots – 7 yard line: 5 shots in 10 seconds, once Ten shots – 15 yard line: 2 shots in 6 seconds, once Scoring: 8, 9, 10, and X rings = 5 points |
